Hello YouTubers, This is a video response to 'Nicko' from 'Nicko's kitchen' who has requested there be a (www.youtube.com Thanks for the concept, Nicko! Here is my cooking vid: Hector's '3 ingredient' Fruit Cake. This cake is: - Sugar free - Lactose free - Fat free - Egg free - Nut free Also free from yeast, soy and seafood. No artificial colours or flavours. Hector's Fruit Cake 1kg mixed dried fruit 2 cups hot water (+ 2 teabags) 2 cups self-raising flour Watch this video for the instructions! Enjoy!
and 4. I use 1 kilogram of mixed dried fruit (1000grams). I would assume it would be about 4 - 4.5 metric cups of fruit. Please let me know how you go.
Apologies for the delay. 1. Yes it still tastes sweet because of the amount of sweet fruit inside!. 2. You can use any dry fruits ie dates, sultanas, currents, cherries etc and you can mix it up with a little chopped fresh orange etc. 3. Oil should be fine but advantage of baking paper is it insulates between the batter and the tin/glass.
a few questions:
1. does it stil taste sweet even though theres no sugar??
2. what other fruits can you use???
3. does it have to be baking paper, or cn u just simply apply oil to the dish???
4. how much fruits do you need?? in cups please??? or grams wud wor too thank youu
love the recipe btw, soo simple and easy to make, i might just try it tonightt =)
Hi there, thank you for your comment. Yes you can use plain four and baking powder. I think ratio is 1 teaspoon of baking powder to 1 cup plain flour. Maybe google the ratio. Thanks and let me know how you go! Hec.
Hello, yeah I was surprised myself how good it was when I made it. It really does save you creaming butter and sugar and adding eggs etc etc. Please let me know how your cake goes. Thanks for your comment.
